And with each new entry in the series, there are more attempts to get closer to science fiction, with the addition of many advanced weapons and jetpacks, some of which succeeded in skipping the masses, and others failed completely.
Here, with the latest installment in the series, and with Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare, these attempts are pushed to their limits, which is completely thrown out the window. Here you'll find yourself inside a game full of spaceships, flying engines, and laser weapons, which could feel more in line with the Star Trek and Battlestar Galactica titles than the original Call of Duty.
Here instead of fighting on the surface of the earth, Infinite Warfare sends you to the far reaches of the solar system to fight on distant planets; Instead of presenting out-of-this-world stories, you are now on a mission to defend Earth from human alien invasion!

Game story

In Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, humans have reached an advanced stage of strength and intelligence, having colonized many planets and moons within the solar system. Within the game, no specific time frame is given as to when all this happened, but it lasted long enough for humans to have extraterrestrial children.
But after the battles in which humans took control of these planets, it became clear to us that these aliens "humans" that those born on distant planets do not like Earth very much, as the SDF Defense Front decided to wage war on the planet Earth, at a time when humans became the enemies of the Earth. Here, you play as Nick Reyes, a Captain of the Space Navy, who was originally born on Earth on a journey to defend the planet and eliminate the hostile SDF forces by any means possible.

There's a new structure to the story mode, which is a welcome addition to the series overall, as instead of going through continuous episodes of the story and progressing within them, you can now and then return to the command center between missions, which acts as the main hub for players within the story mode. From there, you can test out new weapons, hang out with soldiers and even watch news reports about the missions you've done. It is an addition that gave players wider options instead of continuing on missions permanently.

The story mode within Infinite Warfare has many interesting moments. The fast trip to the moon and the use of the speed of light, and the transition between galaxies is a really cool experience, as there are also distinct missions on distant planets, while having some science fiction such as orbiting around the sun and the speed of rotation of some planets, which makes it an exciting journey for players.
