Game story
The events of the story take place 3 years after the story of Modern Warfare 2019, to complete the story of Operations Squad 141, and as usual, there is a new terrorist threat threatening the world, and the squad must deal with the situation without attracting attention.
The story begins with the elimination of the leader of a terrorist group known as “the killers”, General “Jubrani”, as his successor, “Hassan” seeks revenge and rehabilitation by sending a strongly worded message to the West in cooperation with other gangs and various terrorist forces. On the way to chase "Hassan", the band members visit different parts of the world, between "Mexico" and "Amsterdam" and "Chicago" and other regions, and they make friends and make enmities.
The story sees the return of Ghost, Soap, and General Shepherd, along with Captain Price, Jazz, Laswell, and the Shadow Squad led by Graves, with the introduction of a new Mexican Special Forces character, Alejandro.
The story spans over 17 missions, which takes approximately 6-8 hours to complete, making it one of the longest stories in Call Of Duty games, which reflects one of the downsides of the single-player mode here, which is the unwarranted stretch and repetition in some missions that makes you do the same thing over and over. And again, which we will discuss more in the following paragraphs. This does not mean that all long missions are boring, no, some of them are fun and offer various gameplay mechanics over the course of the same mission.
The story and plot are what you would expect from a Call Of Duty game without something super new. Yes, you will have an experience with a dose of excitement and enthusiasm, with some surprises that may be expected for those who played the original game, but do not expect different new additions in terms of narration and plot.
The dialogues between the band members and the homogeneity between them are among the most prominent elements of the story and make you interested in what happens quickly, especially the new “Alejandro” character. I quickly became attached to him thanks to the situations in which he was placed with the other characters and how he dealt with them. This was helped by the introduction of dialogue options on some occasions, although these options have almost no effect except on a few occasions in some missions.
