Game story
Sword Art Online Alicization Lycoris is exactly what I wanted from the next game in the series. You will find yourself in the shoes of Kirito, the main character of the Sword Art Online anime, and you can explore a rich world full of many threats. Without giving too much away, the plot follows the story told in the anime exactly, but then branches off in an interesting direction. As expected, Kirito wakes up with no memory and must discover why he is trapped in this new world. He meets a boy named Eugeo and together they embark on a number of adventures that bring them closer to the truth.

Fighting and upgrades
Sword Art Online Alicization Lycoris features lots of complex gameplay mechanics such as skill-based combat, upgrades, abilities, and more. It's everything you would expect from an RPG. As you complete more missions and defeat challenging enemies, you can upgrade your character by adding new deadly moves. There are dozens of traits you can acquire some of which give you more health and others more damage. How you want to shape your character is up to you.
The combat is definitely the highlight of the game because you have to fight your way through each stage. Your movements are elegant and acrobatic. For example, if you're exploring a cave, you'll have to slay hordes of bats to get to the ogres. I recommend waiting until you've passed level 10 to get off the beaten path because you never know what's around the corner for you. I accidentally took a turn when I was level 6 and was instantly killed by a level 8 bat.

Conclusion
Overall Sword Art Online Alicization Lycoris is a good game that is a huge improvement over Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet. Unfortunately, technical issues cannot be overlooked and developer Aquira needs to fix them. There is no reason for the frame rate to be below 30fps on any occasion and time. Optimization should be a priority before release.
The game tells a good story and lets us play as Kirito, which are features that fans have been asking for since the last title. Enhanced RPG mechanics such as dialogue options and sweeping skills elevate the experience in my opinion. And if playing on the Xbox One S was so smooth, I'd easily recommend Sword Art Online Alicization Lycoris to everyone. Unfortunately in its current state, I would recommend playing and trying it out on PC. Or you must wait for the patch in the next update so that you can enjoy it on the gaming platforms.
